Women´s Economic Empowerment

FCAP TITUKULANE PROJECT

In 2022, Shaping Our Future Foundation (SOFF), expanded its programmatic area in economic  empowerment for women and communities at large. Funded by Spark Microgrants,  SOFF started implementing  the Titukulane FCAP Project from August 2022 to support vulnerable women´s group and  ultra poor villages in rural areas of Lilongwe to become economically self reliant and advance girls education, health and community development.

Using an innovative model of Facilitated Collective Action Process (FCAP),  36 communities  have been targeted in eight Traditional Authorities  in Lilongwe, namely  Chadza, Masula, Chiseka, Khongoni, Kalolo, Njewa, Kabudula and Chimutu.  The communities  are led through regular facilitated meetings to organise, conceptualise a business project, develop a  business proposal and be given microgrants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 to implement their projects.
